Directors
and Staff Raise the Standard
McGilvray’s
Printers Directors and Staff are delighted to announce
the continuing recognition of Investors In People in March
2008.
We were delighted that OLYMPIC curling champion Debbie Knox
was able to attend our champagne reception to give the workforce
a well-earned pat on the back.
The gold medal winner from Lochgelly presented an Investors
in People award to the directors and staff of McGilvray
Printers, based in Frances Industrial Park, Dysart.
It is the second time the company, which has 10 employees,
received the prestigious accolade.
Teresa Henderson and George Milne, the company’s directors,
were delighted to be recognised with the award.
Teresa said: “This is entirely due to the hard
work and dedication of our fantastic, close-knit team.
“McGilvrays prides itself on customer care and its
forward thinking approach.”
A big thank you to Debbie, we really enjoyed her visit.

McGilvray's
New Investment
We
have taken delivery of a new collator, stitcher, folder, guillotine
and stacker for the finishing department. It enables our ladies
to collate, wire stitch, fold and guillotine booklets much
much quicker than previously.
It enables McGilvray’s to have the capacity to take
on more programmes and booklets therefore we will be looking
to print more sports programmes in the coming season.
If you would like to see you much you can save by having your programmes printed by McGilvrays, please do not hesitate to contact us for a no obligation quote.

The hardwork
and determination by the team at McGilvray Printers has paid
off as Teresa Henderson picked up the accolade of Outstanding
Contribution to Fife Business Award 2005 at an awards ceremony
organised by the Association of Scottish Businesswomen.
The award has recognised Teresa’s efforts along with
business partner George, which has seen the dramatic turnaround
of the company since a management buy-out in 2000.
On accepting the award Teresa said, “I am absolutely
thrilled that we have won this award particularly as it is
in the same year McGilvray Printers celebrates 120 years in
business.
She continued, “Whilst I have accepted the award personally,
I could never have achieved this level of success without
my business partner, George, and the fantastic team we have
established. It is their hard work and total commitment to
customer service which has been the critical factor in the
company’s success and I am extremely proud and grateful
for all their effort and support.” |

Printers Achieve Scottish First
McGilvray
Printers has propelled itself to the forefront of the printing
industry by becoming the first company in Scotland to invest
in the latest printing technology.
We have invested over £250,000 in implementing the latest
computer to metal plate printing technology with a new colour
press which will allow the company to increase the speed and
efficiency of its service as well as offering improved levels
of print quality.
Managing director, George Milne, believes that this investment
will allow them to challenge printers
in Scotland for many years to come.
He explained, “We have taken some major steps forward
in recent years, with new equipment and the implementation
of IIP, however I believe that this equipment will provide
the necessary capacity and quality to undertake virtually
any printing project.”
The investment means that McGilvray Printers are now one of
the most environmentally friendly printers in Scotland, with
no harmful waste produced from the new equipment.
George explained, “Most print processes including some
digital presses use a lot of chemicals which need to be disposed
of very carefully, however our new system is completely chemical
free. It’s vital that we ensure our business is as environmentally
friendly as possible and we also believe that it is an advantage
which will help to bring in new business.” |

Printers Staff Take to the High Seas...
We celebrated
120 years in business with a dream trip aboard the Superfast
Ferry. On Friday 9th September, Staff boarded the ferry at
Rosyth and after some celebration drinks on the Friday evening,
with music and dancing, arrived at Zeebrugge on Saturday midday.
The staff took the bus to the wonderful city of Bruges and
had the choice of shopping, taking a sightseeing trip or a
horse and carriage tour before returning to the ship to enjoy
a delicious buffet meal. The ferry arrived back home on Sunday
taking in the spectacular sight of the Forth rail and road
bridges. What a trip! |
